The Ripple Effect

I’ve been having lots of conversations lately surrounding this concept of a “ripple effect” in life. More specifically, how addressing something in one area of your life can impact other areas of your life as well.

For instance, if you’re not exercising as much as you’d like (or not at all), what might change if you started exercising a little bit more? It might give you a feeling of accomplishment…which might inspire you to work out more…and you might feel like you have more energy, so that you could get more done. Your body could start looking more fit, and as a result you might gain more confidence. You might feel inspired to eat healthier. Your attitude is more positive, and you start smiling more. People start noticing the shift in your energy, and feel inspired by you.

Or another example: You’ve been avoiding resolution of a rather big conflict with a friend or colleague, and it’s brewing into a mountain of anxiety inside of you. What would happen if you made an intention to someday try and resolve it? You might take a look at where else you might be holding back and letting anxiety build, and see if there are some little quick wins you can work on. Those wins might give you more inspiration to speak from your heart a little more. You might start to feel more willing to be heard and chip away more and more at your fears. You might start to see that you’re able to more clearly communicate what you want, and it starts to foster stronger relationships with those you love. And maybe, you’ll finally find the courage to confront the issue with that friend/colleague, and the resolution alleviates all of that stress you’ve been feeling. More happiness ensues, and can redirect that energy toward the things you love.

These are just a couple quick examples, but what’s the moral of this story? Take ONE step forward toward what you want, whatever that may be. Action will breed more action, and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish…in ALL areas of your life. What action are you going to take today? I would love to hear all about it!
