Write down your intentions!

Whether you’re trying to set overarching goals for your life, listing your resolutions for the year, or just trying to figure out what you’re going to do today, write it down! The power of writing down the things that you intend to do has such an influence on whether or not you’re really going to accomplish them.

I came up with quite a few New Year’s resolutions this year I wanted to put in place, and admittedly so, I didn’t write them all down. Of those I didn’t commit to paper, some I’ve already forgotten, and some I already have not been executing.

So now that I’ve told you to write things down, here are my intentions for this week:

•   Send my newsletter (check!)

•   Get back into the habit of exercising regularly again by doing a light exercise regimen every day this week (Monday-Friday).

•   Finish the first draft of Chapter 2 for my book by Wednesday.

Verbalizing your intentions is okay, but it’s not good enough. Write the words on a piece of paper and stick it to your fridge. Type up your intentions in a Facebook status and click send – so that everyone can cheer you on and help hold you accountable. Schedule some time in your calendar to make sure you get these things done. Whatever way works for you, go for it – as long as you’re physically “writing it down.”

Hope this was helpful!
